Both Arizona Public Service (APS) and Tucson Electric Power (TEP) are asking the Arizona Corporation Commission (ACC) for 14% rate hikes on their customers, which will add around $20 to folks’ monthly electric bill. This made worse by the fact that the ACC, already—within the past two years—approved big rate hikes on customers, along with fuel surcharges.

If the current proposed hikes are also approved, we are talking a 25%-30% electric bill increase in less than three years!!

What most folks don’t realize is that these rate hikes can only happen if this lesser-known government agency, the Arizona Corporation Commission, approves them. This agency, which is supposed to regulate these monopoly utilities and protect their customers, has instead become a rubber stamp for their rate hikes.

And all this is happening as APS and TEP rake in record revenue and profits!

Please fight back by sending the letter below to the five ACC commissioners demanding that they reject these latest rate hike requests.
