DIRECTORS

Gregory DL Morris

Gregory DL Morris, New York (Chair)

Gregory is a long time member of CRS and its affiliated organizations. Professionally he is an independent business journalist with 30 years’ experience reporting on traditional and renewable energy, industry, transportation, investment, and environmental issues. He brings a great deal of technical insight and expertise on a wide variety of energy and environment-related matters. Gregory also serves on the editorial board of the Museum of American Finance, a Smithsonian affiliate, and is a member of the Overseas Press Club. He holds a B.S. degree in journalism from Cornell University.

Mark Royce

Dr. Mark R. Royce, Virginia (Treasurer) 

Dr. Mark R. Royce is Assistant Professor of Political Science at NVCC-Annandale. A former staffer for the McCain-Palin campaign and founder of the Alexander Hamilton Society, he has written for The European Legacy, International and Comparative Law Quarterly, Providence: A Journal of Christianity and American Foreign Policy, and has lectured in America and Britain. Mark also holds an M.A. in International Relations from American University and a B.A. in European Studies from Vanderbilt. His conservation interests include new urbanism, humane production, and public gardening.

Robin Tyner
Steve Bonowski

CAPT Robin Tyner, USN (ret), New Hampshire (Secretary)

A member of CRS and related organizations since 1996, Robin served previously as a board member. She retired from the Navy in 2017, after serving multiple stints on sea duty, shore duty, flying orders, and in the pentagon.  She holds a BS in Physics/Oceanography from the US Naval Academy, an MBA from Southern NH University, a dual-MS in Oceanography & Meteorology from Naval Post-Graduate School, Monterey, CA. She served in the first competitive cohorts of Atlantic Council Veteran Advanced Energy Fellows, and the Harvard Executive program: Climate & Energy Policy Making. Her areas of expertise include hurricane forecasting, Climate, and the Arctic.

Steve Bonowski, Colorado (At Large) 

Steve, a long time member of CRS and its affiliated organizations, is retired from a career in state government. He is an active leader in our Colorado Chapter and has occupied similar positions with the Colorado Mountain Club. He serves on the board of the Colorado Mountain Club Foundation. Steve is an experienced mountain climber who has summited many of the world’s highest mountains and is passionate about public land protection. He has extensive nonprofit and political experience. He holds a B.S. in Political Science from St. Joseph’s College (IN), and an M.A. in Political Science from Butler University.

Jan Brucker, Washington (At Large)

Jan has been interested in the many different levels of land, air and water conservation issues for over 40 years.  She has specific interests in preservation of natural habitats in urban areas, as well as preservation of habitats along rivers and in coastal areas.  She earned her BA in History from the University of Washington [Seattle] in 1970, and completed her law degree in 1981 from the University of Puget Sound [Tacoma].  As an attorney, she has represented a wide variety of businesses and governmental agencies in civil litigation matters.  On a selected basis, she has also represented community groups with environmental concerns.  In addition to working with community organizations, she served as a Board Member of the Washington Chapter of Republicans for Environmental Protection from 2008 – 2013.

With her husband, Jan also shares an interest in Historic Preservation.  Since 2014, they have expanded their focus to include Oregon and the Columbia River from home bases in Seattle and Astoria, Oregon.

David Jenkins

David Jenkins, President

David has worked for CRS, or its predecessor organization REP America (REP), since 2005. For much of that time he served as Vice President for Government & Political Affairs for REP. He has been instrumental in numerous organizational and legislative accomplishments. David has written and spoken extensively about many of today’s most pressing environmental issues, conservatism, our nation’s conservation heritage and American politics.  His writing has appeared in dozens of newspapers and other publications. Prior to CRS and REP, David was the American Canoe Association’s Director of Conservation and Public Policy for 10 years, and before that was on the legislative staff for Senator Pete Domenici (R-NM). He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Furman University.

Ariel Santiago, Florida Regional Representative 

Ariel serves as our Florida Regional Representative for CRS. Prior to joining CRS, she served as the Regional Field Director for the Republican Party of Florida in Polk and Lake County, and as a Field Organizer in Palm Beach County. Before that, Ariel also served as an intern for U.S. Senator Marco Rubio and Governor Ron DeSantis. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Arts in Public Policy from Liberty University.
