NV Energy has requested ratepayers pay for over $224 million in rate increases, along with new rate designs that will make bills more complicated and reduce rooftop solar customers’ savings. NV Energy had the audacity to propose this all while overcharging 80,000+ customers more than $17 million! NV Energy’s status as a monopoly shields it from free market competition and the associated financial risk, while its customers bear the burden of rising fuel and power prices.

Despite the public outcry to reject the rate case, the Public Utilities Commission unanimously chose to rubber stamp NV Energy rate increase without any meaningful discussion by the commissioners. Nevadans are paying the price while public trust in the monopoly and the Public Utilities Commission erodes.

Demand the PUC reject the proposed rate increase.
