Founded in 1999 as REP Environmental Education Foundation, the organization was established as the charitable (501c3) arm of our sister organization REP America (REP). A few years later the organization’s name was changed to ConservAmerica.
Since its founding, the organization has focused primarily on educating conservatives—including elected officials—about important environmental issues, conservatism’s stewardship mandate, and the need for conservatives to become more engaged in efforts to conserve and protect our natural resources.
We have—often in conjunction with REP—conducted and supported grassroots advocacy efforts, run media campaigns, produced educational publications, held conferences, and conducted workshops around the country.
In 2012 a decision was made for ConservAmerica to be the new name of REP, which led our organization to revise its mission, recruit members, and adopt a new name that clearly states who we are: Conservatives for Responsible Stewardship (CRS).
